Location and Geography

  • Area
    • Southern Mindanao (Davao Region) is located in the Southeastern part of Mindanao.

    • Comprise the provinces of Compostela Valley, Davao del Norte, Davao del Sur, Davao Oriental and the cities of Davao, Digos, Panabo, the Island Garden City of Samal and Tagum.

    • Covers a total land area of three (3) Million hectares.

  • Climate
    • Type II-absence of a dry season and very pronounced rainy period from November to January (Davao Oriental and Western Davao Province);

    • Type IV-evenly distributed rainfall throughout the year (Davao City, Davao del Sur and the rest of Davao Province). However, the region is typhoon free.
