Location and Geography

    • Also known as Southern Tagalog Mainland as it is situated at the southwestern of Luzon.
    • Covers five (5) provinces Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon; Calamba City is the regional center, Antipolo City is the largest and second highly urbanized nextto Lucena City. CALABARZON was declared as the Second Most Richest Region in the Philippines.
    • Land area:1.6 million hectares which 65% is classified alienable and disposable, 35% considered forest land.
    • Quezon province is the biggest land area (474 thousand hectares) and Cavite is the smallest with (108 thousand hectares).
    • From 1996-97, around four (4) thousand hectares of agricultural and non- agri cultural lands had been converted for industrial, residential, recreational and other eco-tourism development projects.

    • Other crops are: banana (saba), citrus, pineapple, papaya, vegetables and cutflowers/ornamentals;
    • Batangas, Laguna and Rizal are top producers of cattle, swine, and poultry in the region;
