Location and Geography

    • Central Visayas is located in the center of the Philippine archipelago.
    • Composed of the provinces of Bohol, Cebu, Negros Oriental and Siquijor and highly urbanized cities of Cebu and Lapulapu, component cities of Tagbilaran, Danao, Talisay, Toledo, Bais, Bayawan, Canlaon, Dumaguete and Tanjay.
    • Total land area of 1,499,940 hectares with 44.4% or about 665, 446 hectares devoted to agriculture.

  • Climate
    • The region is partially sheltered from dull effects of moist air masses coming from adjacent islands, thus the region receives less precipitation than most other Philippine areas. The months of Feb-Mar-Apr are the months with less precipitation and may actually prevent real drought. Maximum precipitation occurs during June through October.
